Admissions
Your child’s journey to an Ambleside education.
We owe it to every child to put him in communication with great minds that he may get at great thoughts.
— CHARLOTTE M. MASON —
We are so glad that you are considering admission to Ambleside School of
Brownwood for your child. After you have explored our website and spoken with
a member of our admissions team, we warmly welcome you to apply.
We are currently accepting applications for Pre-K, K, 1 st grade, 4th grade, and 5th
grade for the 2026/2027 school year. Please contact us if you have inquiries concerning
the 2027/2028 school year.
STEP ONE: Speak with a member of our admissions team
The best way to start is to fill out the form on our admissions page. A member of our admissions team will reach out to you shortly. Please also feel free to call or email our office directly at 325-200-8006, or office@amblesidebrownwood.org. We look forward to speaking to you and learning more about your family.
STEP TWO: Application & Records
Following discussion with a team member, an application may be provided to you. An application fee of $100 is due at the time of submission. A Request for Student Records form is included in the Student Application. If applicable, please complete and sign so that the applicant’s educational records may be released to Ambleside School of Brownwood upon enrollment. This may include report cards, standardized aptitude and/or achievement test scores, etc.
STEP THREE: Applicant Examination
A testing appointment will be scheduled after the application has been received. A $50 examination fee (check or cash) per child is due at the time of testing. Each applicant is required to take an entrance examination.
STEP FOUR: Required Readings
Prior to the interview, both parents or guardians of the applicant must read For the Children’s Sake, by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay, the Parent/Student Handbook, and view The Ambleside Difference video series.
STEP FIVE: Parent Interview
A personal interview with both parents or all guardians is required for each family applying to Ambleside School of Brownwood. Parents need to call the school office to schedule an appointment for an interview after completing the required reading.
STEP SIX: Decision And Enrollment
Following completion of the above, letters of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent out. Qualified applicants will be considered based on space availability and optimal class dynamics. If a particular class is full, accepted students may be placed on a waiting list.
If accepted, secure your child’s space by returning the signed enrollment agreement, which will accompany your acceptance letter, along with the $250 non-refundable enrollment deposit per student, which will be applied to tuition for the upcoming year.
STEP SEVEN: Medical Forms
A copy of the applicant’s immunization record, a certification of a school-entry health exam, and a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate are required before a student can attend classes. Medical forms are available from your doctor or the Health Department.
